Summary

VideoAura for YouTube™ (“VideoAura”) customizes YouTube in your browser. The developer does not operate a collection server, use analytics, sell data, or receive your YouTube activity.

Data processed locally

Theme choices, layout preferences, player-tool settings, focus controls, and a versioned consent record are stored in Chrome local extension storage.

If you explicitly enable the full interface, VideoAura temporarily reads visible YouTube page content—including titles, thumbnails, channels, recommendations, subscriptions, playlists, and history-page entries—to arrange that content in the selected layout. This content remains in page memory and is not stored by VideoAura.

Requests to YouTube and Google

Thumbnail images may load directly from YouTube or Google image hosts. If you choose “Player window,” a focused YouTube watch page opens only after your click. Those services receive normal network information such as your IP address, browser details, request timing, and the requested video or image identifier under their own policies.

VideoAura does not provide remote search suggestions and does not send text as you type.

Player tools and screenshots

Video effects run locally on the visible video. A frame capture occurs only when you click Capture and is downloaded locally; VideoAura does not upload it. You are responsible for respecting creator rights, YouTube terms, and applicable law.

Retention and control

Settings remain until you change them, reset VideoAura, clear extension data, or uninstall the extension. Use “Revoke interface access” to disable personalized page processing, or “Reset all settings” to delete VideoAura’s local settings.

Limited use

Data access is limited to providing VideoAura’s user-facing customization features. It is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or sale to third parties, and is not read by the developer.
